Recently, one of our members was unfortunately fined for parking overnight in Pier Road. The club sought clarification from the City of Port Phillip about parking requirements, as some of the signage is not clear. We received the following advice:
1) The northern section of Pier Road (with entry from Beaconsfield Parade) is a 'No Stopping' area from midnight to 5am. This is to prevent campers and hoons from entering the area. Therefore members should not park in this area overnight, even with a Foreshore Parking Permit.
3) No one is permitted to park at any time in the area near the St Kilda Pier, and the Police will issue fines.
Additionally, members are asked to respect the reserved car parking signs in the small gravel car park. There is also a fine applicable to this area for those who are not authorised to park there.
Thanks very much for your understanding.
