Our sailing season opened on 1 October 2022.

Here’s how it went!

We had a beautiful Opening Day celebration. It began in the Harbour Room where members and their guests came together for lunch. The sun was shining and we had the honour of having City of Port Phillip Councillors Andrew Bond and Christina Sirakoff of Lake Ward. Commodore, Vice Commodore, Treasure and Club Captain were also present. It was lovely to see all our members in the beautiful Harbour Room.

The unfurling of the burgee

As is customary, we did our acknowledgment of country and toasted the King. The City of Port Phillip Councillors Andrew Bond and Christina Sirakoff of Lake Ward unfurled the burgee.

On the water

We had the most gorgeous day for our opening day out on the water. Beautiful 5-10 knots of wind and gorgeous blue skies. We had a traditional sail past and casual combined start fleet race The results of the race are below. Thank you to all the boats that came out for the sail past! The race was a great (mostly white sailed) short pursuit around B to D mark and finishing. After the race, members enjoyed the sun on the balcony for a drink!

Best dressed boat goes to Siren!

Congratulations to Siren for best dressed boat. Come collect your prize bottle of wine.

We would also like to recognise Matador and Morning Hustler for their flag protocol as well as the rest of the fleet for partaking in the Sail Past so well!
