On February 18 this year RMYS will again host yachts for the Jennifer Goldsmith Perpetual. This long standing RMYS race, is a key part of the Port Phillip Women's Championship Series (PPWCS) coordinated by Australian Sailing Victoria and the Women and Girls in Sailing Committee.
The event is sponsored by the Goldsmith family in memory of Jennifer Goldsmith, a keen sailor and first female recipient of the Club Member of the Year award at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron. All entry fees are donated to Melanoma Research.
The Goldsmith family fund a perpetual trophy, a crystal shard with engraved yacht and wave images mounted on an oblong rosewood block. In addition, the Goldsmith family fund and present much valued prizes to all skippers and significant prizes to first, second and third places in the performance handicap division.
RMYS looks forward to continuing the Jennifer Goldsmith Perpetual Trophy into the future, with a growing number of competitors.
I, along with the Goldsmith Family look forward to RMYS boats and members doing their part by supporting Lady Skippers on board for the Sunday February 18 race.
The NOR and entry can be found here.
Post-race there will be a gourmet BBQ in the Harbour Room for $25pp.
Please send all bookings to Sailing Coordinator Allicia Rae via email by Tuesday 13 February.
