New member Henrik Vedeler came to the Squadron on Wednesday 8 August but has only managed one race with the following Wednesday and Saturday being abandoned due to bad weather.
That race was to us quite cold a bit wet and blowing with gusts over 30kts, but to Henrik who has been sailing keel boats at home for 30 years it was almost a balmy summers cruise.
To prove that a bit of weather does not stop the sailing at Tromso, he shared this image. Henrik is on left.
In case you were wondering where Tromso is check Lat 69.56544N; 19.41143E. With the Arctic Ocean lapping the beaches, it’s known as the gateway to the Arctic.
So RMYS yachties – toughen up!! Welcome Henrik!
