Sunday morning dawned grey and overcast with very little breeze for the annual Frostbite Regatta
Following the successful change to Pacer dinghies last year, we continued with the Pacers this year. RMYS chose the sunshine yellow boats; RBYC had the blue ones. It is very easy to determine who is on which team with the Pacers.
Juniors were off first for two short races - four juniors from RBYC and Nelson Dean from RMYS with three RBYC juniors making up the numbers for the RMYS team. They showed us how it was done with results tied after their two races.
After fortifying themselves with coffee, it was the turn of the RMYS senior team to try their skills.
Congratulations to RBYC on retaining the "Wee Drop of Yarra Water" Trophy. Thanks also to RBYC for their hospitality on the day and we look forward to next year’s event. Put the date in your diary. This fiercely fought competition will be on again next year (on the Sunday closest to the Winter Solstice).
