Our wonderful member Dugga Beazley has recently decided to take up an offer from the Victorian Government to relinquish his commercial fishing licence. The government plans to entirely phase out commercial fishing in Port Phillip by 2022.
We are sorry to see Dugga's career come to an end, particularly as he has clearly enjoyed it so much for the past 63 years. Those who were at RMYS Opening Day in 2014 will recall hearing of his absolute passion for fishing. However, Dugga will certainly still be around St Kilda, looking after the classic yachts in the 'pond'.
