RMYS Committee, Members and Staff would like to pass on our sincere condolences to popular member Mal Coram and family.
Mal’s sister Carol Friday, and her son Greig Friday, were among the 150 killed when Germanwings flight 4U9525 came down in the French Alps just over an hour before it was due to land in Dusseldorf on Tuesday 24 March.
Mal, along with his daughters Georgie and Pippa, travelled near to the crash site, where they paid their respects at a newly erected memorial for the victims. They left tributes to Carol and Greig on behalf of their family and friends, including poems, photos and reminders of the Australian bush that Carol and Greig loved.
“We head home in a couple of days. A sad but necessary journey. Carol and I will be back in Marseille in September. A road is being built to the crash site where a new memorial will be built. I will revisit then.
Funny how you don't realise how close you are, until they are gone.

Our thoughts are with you Mal, hope to see you back at the club very soon.
