Bart’s Bash is the largest sailing race in the world (verified by Guinness World Records). Bart’s Bash is an amazing event open to all sailing clubs, yacht clubs, sea scouts and any venue globally that can hold a yacht race.
It’s an annual fundraising event coordinated by the Andrew Simpson Foundation, raising funds to “transform the lives of young people through sailing” in other words, promoting and encouraging the next generation of sailors, mainly in underprivileged circumstances.
To get involved head over to www.bartsbash.com and register as a participant. Set up a “Go Fundraising” page while you are registering, so that you can donate and collect donations from your friends. Each skipper and crew member needs to sign up for the event.
We currently only have one yacht entered, so if you are thinking about getting involved, but you aren’t sure how to register, let Allicia know and she will give you a hand. Expressions of interest / registrations need to be received by Thursday, otherwise we may cancel the event due to insufficient numbers.
If you have any questions about the event, please speak to Allicia to go to the Bart’s Bash website.
