Thanks to all the members and guests who attended the AWKR Lecture Series over the past month. We had record numbers and fantastic participation. A special thanks to all of our wonderful presenters for their efforts. If you missed the Lectures, check out www.awkr.com.au for some speaker notes and videos – or put them in the diary for Wednesdays in May 2017!
RMYS will be conducting Start Practice on Sunday 5 June from 1400 to approximately 1600. All boats are welcome, and AWKR participants are particularly encouraged. William Paterson will be anchoring close to the breakwater and setting a start line and a short windward leg. We will then run five-minute sequences, providing enough time for boats to round the windward mark and return to the start area.
The regatta itself kicks off with the Briefing Night on Friday 10 June at 1900 in the Harbour Room. All competitors are encouraged to attend, in order to meet the race management and regatta team, receive a weather briefing, collect your competitor bags, and ask any questions about the Sailing Instructions (which will be available later this week).
Racing will then be conducted from 0955 on Saturday 11 June, running through Sunday 12 and Monday 13 June.
If you are a competitor and haven't yet ordered your shirt, your lunches, or your Crew Dinner or Presentation Function tickets, please go to www.awkr.com.au and fill out the TryBooking forms as soon as possible. The site also contains a lot of other information about the regatta and is updated regularly.
