Saturday 5 November
Racing was conducted after early advice from the Bureau of Meteorology that the gale warning would be lifted at 10.30 and the winds were abating as the afternoon progressed. Racing was delayed to 1400 to allow for a further abatement of winds.
All the divisions were combined onto the eastern course with a start just off point Ormond.
Under lumpy conditions, the three divisions all got off to clean (albeit conservative) starts, with a nearly two mile course out to the channel, three laps for division 1 and two laps for divisions 2 and three.
Those brave enough to fly spinnakers struggled with the 20-30 knot breezes that gusted to 35 at times. Some now making appointments to see the sail makers during the week.
Squadron boats fared well, particularly Portofino with a 2nd in YV (performance) and a 3rd in AMS.
Please find the Notice to Competitors for today's Club Marine Range Day 2.
