We are purchasing more bins to go behind each marina gate, but in the meantime, please do not dump rubbish around the bins if the bins are full. Please take a nostalgic trip to the old days and bring your rubbish back to the bin at the start of the Pier or to the yard bin at the Clubhouse.
The photos are from Monday morning. The bins are emptied as soon as possible when they fill, but we’re fortunate that we did not have a windy weekend and all the rubbish strewn around the bins didn’t end up in the marina.
During last week's gale, we had a number of boats whose furling headsails unfurled. If your boat has a furling headsail, please ensure that both your furling line is very well secured, AND your headsail sheets are also cleated off so they don’t whip around if the sail unfurls. Extra turns of the furler to wrap sheets around the sail can also help prevent wind getting under the leech.
It is advisable to also secure (tie off) your furled headsail with either a Velcro strap or line through the clew and around the furled sail.
