Scarlet Runner skippered by Robert Date crossed the line at 14:17:01 on Saturday 7 March to take Line Honours in the 2015 ORCV Melbourne to King Island yacht race. RMYS was well represented, with Jazz Player finishing at 17:44:39, and Addiction across the line at Grassy at 19:03:11.
With 20 – 25 knot westerlies staying in after a 4am start, the fleet enjoyed excellent conditions and Scarlet Runner only missed the race record set last year by Primitive Cool by approximately 30 minutes.
Scarlet Runner also took out both measurement handicap divisions, AMS and IRC. The performance handicap division was won by Geomatic Allegro, which has also spent quite a bit of time at RMYS recently.

In tests this week, we compared this light with the trusty Dolphin Floating Torch. The Exposure MOB was found to illuminate the water around the torch creating a circle of light some 20m in diameter, while strobing upwards – a far more eye catching and bright target than the old style torch.
