The Australian Yachting Championships were held at Sandringham Yacht Club form 19-21 January, and included a multihull fleet of 16 boats from Victoria, South Australia and NSW. RMYS Vice-Commodore Charles Meredith and his boat Peccadillo had an excellent regatta, coming third in the 11-boat Division 2 (tied for second but dropped down on countback). The regatta was a great event and Charles would love to see more RMYS keelboats at future events when it is Port Phillip’s turn again. The next championships will be in Hobart in January 2019.
Road closures for the Midsumma Pride March will commence tomorrow in St Kilda between 10am - 6.30pm.

Another closure of Pier Rd.
Here is information from the event manager for the weetbix Tryathlon.
It sounds like we will only have access up to our staff car park from the southern end of Pier Road.
They will let cars out who were already parked on the road before the closures, but they won’t let cars in.
See attached the Course Map with their approved area of use for the swim. (No changes to the last 5 years).
Access from Cowderoy Street onto Pier Road (along the front of Catani Gardens) will be closed from 5am – 12pm.
As per previous years, RMYS members and staff usually access Pier road from Jacka Boulevarde. However they are detoured down Fitzroy Street if they travel towards Beaconsfield Parade.
Don't forget to save the date!

Bins are provided for Members use for the disposal of bottles, cans, food scraps etc, principally for rubbish following a cruise or race.
They are NOT there for pieces of your actual boat. Recently one entire bin was filled with the galley and contents (crockery, Tupperware, kettles, etc) from a vessel; another was full of window blinds; and in another a picnic table and joinery, pillows, and cushions..
All waste from boat repairs, décor changes etc MUST NOT BE left in bins or around the bins – Please bring all such rubbish back to the yard skip or arrange your own disposal.
If you see anyone disposing of such rubbish, please advise them, or let Damien know and I will talk to them.
As per previous years, the bins will be removed from the marina on Friday 22nd and not returned until January.
Any questions, please contact Damien.
